I see two issues here:
1. Using a proxy makes the studio crash. => What is written in the log about this (if there is something)?
2. The proxy information is not saved. => OK.

Can you reply to the first point?

Any news on this?
Is the studio crashing? Or is the registration page crashing?
In both cases, what do the logs indicate? => Take a look at the "Error log" view.

Any news on this?
I need to know if the studio crashes or just the registration process.
Without an answer, I will just consider the bug as a demand to store the proxy settings.

I'm sorry but I can't say who talked Charles about this error. Proxy information are not saved: right. But I never had a Studio crash due to proxy configuration. You can consider only the demand for proxy settings storage.

Commit # 1748
The proxy settings are now stored when the user registers.
The storage is done when the user clicks "Finish", independently of the process result (success or failure).
These values are restored on next registrations (e.g. new version).
